I put a cheapy eBay starter motor in and it didn’t solve the problem. Took the car to the mechanic, they looked at all sorts of potential issues and no one could figure out what it was. A few suspected the starter motor, I said “I just changed it” so I took a punt and bought a genuine starter and it solved the problem, thankfully. The moral of the story is that you don’t buy cheap starter motors, get a genuine one and you’ll be happy!
