What Are Ford Control Arms?

Signs of Failing Suspension Arms

• Clunking or knocking noises from suspension, especially over bumps
• Excessive vibration felt through the steering wheel
• Uneven or rapid tyre wear on inner or outer edges
• Vehicle pulling to one side while driving
• Movement in the ball joint when inspected

Can I Still Drive With Bad Control Arms?

Driving with worn or damaged control arms is dangerous and strongly discouraged. A failed control arm can cause sudden loss of steering control, unpredictable vehicle handling, and complete wheel separation in extreme cases. Worn bushes and ball joints also accelerate tyre wear and damage other suspension components.
